Introduction to Goddess Padmavathi

In the sacred texts Varaha Purana and Padma Purana, it is recorded that, during a sacred ceremony, King Akasha Raja was ploughing his fields when he discovered a baby girl inside a golden lotus flower. Upon realizing she was divine, he gave her the name Padmavathi, meaning "the one who was born from the lotus."
